KINGSTON YOUNG MUSICIAN
This is a competition sponsored by the Kinston University School of Music, the aim of which is to further the musical education of outstanding young performers between the ages of 11 and 18 (21 for singers). They will be selected by the adjudicators from the Music Sections of this Festival on the basis of their performance in their classes. Each will be invited to perform a programme of about twelve minutes duration. The competition will be adjudicated and the winner and runner-up announced and awarded bursaries of £175 and £75 respectively. There is a Contemporary Music Award of £50.
This year the competition will be held on Saturday 24th January 2009 at 7 pm in the Emmanuel Church, 1 Grand Avenue, Tolworth, KT5 9HU.
